We are now doing weekly dev logs, but alternating between our two games. This week, it's all about A Shot in the Dark, and next week we'll give an update on Prince of Suburbia.

Admittedly, this was not our most productive two weeks of work when it comes to A Shot in the Dark. We've had quite a few business-y things taking time away from development, both routine (accounting and taxes) and unexpected (licensing issues).

It's looking like we will need to replace quite a bit of the music in the game before our Steam release in December, so we are not happy to be adding that to our already packed Chapter 4 release cycle and all the other preparations we still need to make before the game is ready for Steam.

It's an unfortunately common reality of adult game development, as we discussed in our recent podcast episode: Seedy AF Podcast [Ep12]: How do you deal with censorship? At the end of the day, we'll do whatever we can to protect our business, so we can keep doing what we love -- making these games for our fans to enjoy!

With that out of the way, there was some progress made on Chapter 4 since the last dev log. Mute Hazelnut is finished writing the Sophie scene, and still working on the Delia scene. Josselyn is working on the Monica and Natalie scenes, which are the only remaining lewd scenes to be written.

Right now the word count is at 42K, but most of the longest scenes are already written. So, while about half of the scenes are written, the final wordcount will not be double the current number. It's still looking like it will be similar to Chapter 3 (~55K words).

Renders for the Ashley scene are almost all posed, as are the Alexis animations planned for this chapter. The current count is 501 renders and 8 animations. So far, it's looking like Chapter 4 will have about the same amount of animations as Chapter 3, but possibly more renders. (For reference, Chapter 3 had ~1,800 renders and ~100 animations).

Here are some SFW previews of the upcoming Ashley scene! TheOmega has already declared this scene his favorite in the game so far, so we are excited to see if players agree when they play it. ;)
